Phone books are obsolete

by Mochi on July 2, 2010

Seattle Councilmember Mike O’Brian is collecting phone books to demonstrate the waste with an opt out system. Most people now a days don’t use a phone book to look up a business. I prefer using tools like Google, Yelp, Twitter, and other online sites to look up businesses.

Phone books go out of date. They don’t have customer reviews. They don’t like to online maps. There are no photos. Not all businesses are published on the yellow pages.

Online, you can do all these things. People need to stop complaining how it’s hard to use the Internet. I can do it. I’m a cat.

Meow Mochi,
I totally agree with you. Phonebooks are such a waste. The city should provide internet tutorial classes at local public libraries. Once people see how amazing internet is, they will never pick up a phonebook. Hope all is well with you. Bye Bye.
